Become a TrewCarer
There are Carers and there are TrewCarers…
Would you like to join the TrewCare team? We are always interested to hear from hard working, caring, dedicated, flexible individuals who are looking for a rewarding and interesting career in care.
We do not require any previous experience. You may find that you have gained experience through your everyday life; many of our valued TrewCarer’s have looked after loved ones or helped in our community through voluntary work or supporting friends and neighbours.
We are a growing company who support our staff to be the best that they can be. We listen to our staff and encourage them to grow.
Work-life Balance
Care work can be rewarding and flexible, but it’s not always the case. When times get tough, it’s even more important to strive for a healthy work/life balance.
Being a family run company we understand that however much you want to make a difference, you have a life of your own.
We will work with you to build a well matched roster around your availability as we need adaptable people who understand that they need to be reliable when working with people, as we strive together to always support them as best we can.
We understand that time is precious
Our goal is to continually develop a rosta that matches your given availability, in line with your profesional competencies, whether you are looking for full or part time work. We require all our TrewCarers either work at least every other weekend or one day at the weekend, in line with their weekday availability, so that everyone can have free time at the weekend.
We Value our Staff
We know that working in the care sector can be a challenge. Not only do we strive to deliver a healthy work/life balance to our TrewCarers. We recognise our staff’s hard work through competitive wages and a wealth of company benefits that continues to grow.
We send out surveys periodically to get an understanding of what our TrewCarer’s value about working for TrewCare.
Here is a sample of what they say:
‘I value the support from management. I value working with a fantastic team. I value the training we get and updates we get.’
‘I value the way staff and clients are listened to, how accommodating they are to each individual person. Very approachable.’
‘It’s a great place to work and management will always help and support in any way they can.’
‘I value the clients and all of my colleagues, and the office staff who are always there to help if needed. I value my job working for TrewCare.’
‘I enjoy working with my colleagues looking after my clients. No two days are the same. Office staff are very approachable, supportive and motivating. I value they have an open door policy to come in to the office for a coffee.’
Our company benefits include…
Real Living Wage Employer
TrewCare is a living wage employer – we believe that our TrewCarer’s should have a good quality of life and pay them accordingly. All our pay rates are above the Real Living wage.
Enhanced Rates of Pay
We offer enhanced rates of pay for staff members working all day at the weekend. We also pay further enhanced rates on Bank Holidays and Christmas day if it is not a Bank Holiday.
For any member of staff who is qualified, your standard hourly rate of pay will increase, as well as the enhanced rates. We value staff who strive to develop themselves and so want to reward career development.
Paid Annual Leave
Some providers include holiday pay in their wage. We pay this separately to you.
You are entitled to 28 days pro rata; these days off are paid at your average daily rate over the last 12 months.
Long Service Rewards
We have members of staff that have worked with is for 20 years and counting. We value our team tremendously and want to recognise your commitment.
We recognise our TrewCarer’s long service every Christmas through our ‘All for one’ Christmas Voucher which is increased for each year with us. We will celebrate your long service on our social media but of course all of your time is recognised, and we appreciate each and every day!
Travel Time Paid
Unlike some providers who pay National Minimum wages for travel time, we pay your travel time at your normal hourly rate – so that you don’t loose out.
Mileage Paid
Mileage between calls is paid at 40p per mile. This is paid separately as milage on your pay slip as a none taxable income – so you are not paying tax for your petrol.
You do not have to claim this back yourself – we do that for you on your wage slip.
Wellbeing Support 24/7
Staff can come under heavy emotional strain when working with people on a daily basis and within their own private lives. We recognise this and have invested in an Employee Assistance Programme to support all our social care staff to ensure our team can get the emotional support 24/7 about anything that might be effecting them.
This means you’ll be able to access free telephone or online counselling/advice 24/7, 365 days a year, from an independent source, trained in dealing with day-to-day problems, whether they be in home or work life.
Fully Paid Induction
We want to ensure you are fully equipped before starting work with us as quality of care is paramount to us, but we don’t want you to be out of pocket! We pay you for all your induction training when you complete three months work with us.
Ethical Pension Scheme
TrewCare use NEST as their pension provider where TrewCarer’s have the option to have their money invested in an Ethical Pension, if they wish.
Free Blue Light Card
As a social carer our carers are entitled to The Blue Light Card with hundreds of retail and holiday discounts. TrewCare will pay for this.
