£1000 raised for Cancer Charity

A group of workers from a Falmouth based care company have been doing their bit in the fight against cancer by raising more than £500 for two Cornish charities.

TrewCare carers, led by Katy Wallis, have been raising funds for Pants Charity and for The Cove – MacMillan Cancer Support, by taking part in the Falmouth Carnival, selling at car boot sales, and collecting donations from staff, clients and friends.

The group raised £251 for Pants and £296 for The Cove, which was was match funded by TrewCare so that the two charities could be given over £1,000 between them.

The group presented a cheque for £502 to Jeannette Preston, founder of Pants Cancer on Friday, May 13, and will post the other cheque to The Cove.

Clients, Staff and their children joined in the carnival to raise money for Pants Cancer Charity and the Cove Macmillan Support Centre. Overall the carnival raised £2500 for various charities.
